We’re delighted to be able to share some good news from Terra Livha today. The very first olive harvest has taken place!
It began in November and ended in December. As we were already very busy with the plantations launched in November, which require a lot of attention to help them grow as well as possible, we decided to enlist the help of local professionals.
It’s a “win-win” system where a team comes to harvest all the olives on the land, and in exchange for their work receives 2/3 of the production. Of the 3 tonnes harvested, 1 tonne was received by Terra Livha, resulting in 100 liters of oil.
The olives were brought to a local mill, which gathers olives that are all of the same variety in the region, from properties that use no pesticides, and so the production is combined so that the mill can operate.
Those lucky enough to have already tasted the oil find it delicious 😉
